The police officer charged with fatally shooting an unarmed Bronx teenager appeared in court today, sparking another wave of protests.
Officer Richard Haste has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter charges in the death of 18-year-old Ramarley Graham. Haste chased the teen into the bathroom of his home earlier this year, believing he was armed and carrying drugs.
About 200 people gathered outside the Bronx Supreme Courthouse as early as 6:30 a.m. to voice their disapproval and anger over the shooting. Protesters say they're fed up with what they call racist and aggressive police tactics.
