A 6-month-old girl is lucky to be alive thanks to the quick thinking of police officers in Brooklyn.
On the morning of Jan. 25, Mikaela Tatarkina suffered an allergic reaction to baby formula that left her unresponsive with red blotches on her face. Mikaela's parents saw their baby was in distress and immediately called 911.
A group of officers arrived at the scene within minutes, ultimately saving the baby's life.
City Councilman Mark Treyger honored the group on Monday for their service and dedication to the community.
The officers say that saving Mikaela's life was their first time saving a baby and that it's something they'll never forget.
