A 64-year-old woman died Thursday following a house fire in North Massapequa, officials say.
The victim was taken out of the home by firefighters and transported by ambulance to Nassau University Medical Center.
Officials say it happened at 150 N. Hawthorne St. around 1:15 p.m.
Approximately 100 firefighters from multiple different departments helped bring the fire under control in 40 minutes.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
The Town of Oyster Bay Building Department is also on scene to assess the damage.
