Two security guards were critically injured in a shooting outside a city Housing Authority building, officials say.
The incident happened just before 9 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Livonia and Rockaway avenues in Brownsville.
Family members say Aaron Locklear and James Merced were shot while working security at the Riverdale Towers.
Members of the National Action Network rallied in front of the scene along with the victims' family members.
The group says the two men were in the wrong place at the wrong time and didn't deserve to be hurt.
Police say there have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
