Officials, sexual abuse victims warn New Yorkers to take advantage of expiring Adult Survivors Act

The Adult Survivors Act, which started last year, gave victims a window to file civil suits against their abusers and negligent institutions, even if the legal deadline to do so had passed.

Sex abuse victims and elected officials gathered on Friday to advise victims to take advantage of the expiring Adult Survivors Act.
The Adult Survivors Act, which started last year, gave victims a window to file civil suits against their abusers and negligent institutions, even if the legal deadline to do so had passed.
The window to file any suits closes Nov. 23.
