A onetime powerful Democratic leader in Brooklyn was back in Brooklyn Supreme Court Monday. Clarence Norman, who's been convicted twice on corruption charges, is on trial for a fourth time. The Brooklyn DA accuses Norman of sending judicial candidates to preferred vendors and consultants.
Norman has also made some changes to his defense team. Norman?s attorney Ed Rappaport asked to be removed from the case because he knows the co-defendant, who is now a witness to the prosecution.
Norman lost his seat in the 43rd Assembly District last year following his convictions. The former assemblyman was acquitted earlier this year in his third corruption trial.
