As the number of hate crimes in New York City continues to increase, a group of like-minded individuals came together to share a meal with the goal to put an end to the hate.

Sheikh Musa Drammeh created “One New York Love” because he is tired of seeing hate crimes happening to people around the city. He says that no one should be attacked for their race, beliefs or cultures.

On Sunday, Drammeh gathered individuals of different backgrounds from the neighborhood to come together in Little Yemen and share a meal, because he said there is no better way to get to know someone than breaking bread with them.

"The goal here is no attacks on anybody under any circumstances for any reasons. So that is the reason why we are here and that is the mission of One New York Love. We are one New York, a family and we are one human family and none of us needs to be singled out," Drammeh said.

One New York Love plans to hold monthly dinners on the first Sunday of each month throughout the five boroughs to open up the dialogue about peace and love to more people around the city.
