A firefighter was bit on the leg by a pit bull Monday morning during a routine building inspection in Flatbush.
Local store owner Abraham Safi said he gave the firefighters fair warning before they stepped outside to investigate the fire escape.
?We told him it?s dangerous to open the door,? said Safi. ?But they insist to open it.?
Safi said that the firefighter only received small scratches from the bite on his leg.
Dog breeder and owner James Bell says this is the first time anything like this has happened. His 2-year-old pit bull, Princess, is now in the custody of Animal Care and Control.
Bell was told by Animal Care and Control that he would find out more information about Princess in 10 days.
