Online marketplace Etsy is planning a major expansion in Dumbo.
The online marketplace, where users sell handmade goods, signed on as the anchor tenant of the new Dumbo Heights Complex. The old Watchtower Buildings are being redeveloped into the complex.
Etsy representatives say they plan to create 300 new jobs with the expansion. The company will be moving into its new home in 2016. Its 350 employees currently work at an 80,000-square foot office in Brooklyn.
Etsy got its start in Brooklyn, when it was founded in Fort Greene back in 2005.
