Brooklyn?s annual outdoor summer film series kicked off Thursday in the DUMBO section at the Empire Fulton Ferry State Park.
Residents came out with blankets, lawn chairs, popcorn and sandwiches to catch the first free screening of this year?s outdoor film series. The first film was a documentary by Brooklyn filmmaker Jerome Nelson.
The summer film series launched seven years ago. The volunteer film committee helps to create an assorted line up of films. This year?s theme is movies in motion and includes films such as ?Easy Rider? and ?Raiders of the Lost Ark.? The films will be shown every Thursday evening through August 23.
