A suspect escaped from a Brooklyn parole center on Friday, worrying local parents, but also providing them with proof that the center should be moved.
The parole center is located in the same building as Saint Ann?s Elementary School and across the street from Saint Ann?s Middle School. Back in July, when the center was constructed, many parents spoke out about its proximity to the schools and children, demanding it be relocated. Officials say the center must remain in its current location until the opening of a new space in the court house in February of 2009.
News 12 Brooklyn contacted the chief probation officer, though he was unable to comment because the incident is still under investigation.
