A photo of Brooklyn Borough President and mayoral front-runner Eric Adams was hanging inside the polling site. The photo was shared on Twitter and drew the attention of dozens of voters, who called it an "unfair home field advantage."
It was also considered a potential breach of state electioneering laws, which bar campaigning within 100 feet of a polling site.
The BOE took notice and within an hour tweeted back saying that the poster was removed.
Meanwhile, Tuesday's rain didn't keep voters away from the site at Borough Hall, with a coordinator reporting higher than expected turnout and over 500 people stopping by to cast ballots by around 5 p.m.
