The MTA and Department of Transportation canceled a public meeting on possible improvements to the B46 Select Bus Service route Monday.
Officials blamed a scheduling conflict that required representatives to attend a town hall meeting on affordable housing with Mayor Bill de Blasio instead.
Officials say the B46, which carries more than 50,000 riders a day, is one of the busiest routes in Brooklyn and want to improve it.
Proposals include adding more dedicated bus lanes, improving waiting shelters and adding sidewalk space near the stops.
Opponents in East Flatbush say adding lanes and sidewalk space will add to congestion in the neighborhood.
"It's already congested," says Ann-Marie Johnson, a commuter who uses the B46 route. "How do you expect us to park?"
Members of Community Board 17 said they were upset that the city canceled the meeting at the last minute and are looking into rescheduling.
