A plan to move a summer day camp onto the streets has some parents angered and worried about their children?s safety. The Webster Avenue Police Athletic League holds a program every summer for Bronx kids. The camp?s building is slated to undergo renovations this summer and organizers say the camp will be moved to a ?play street? on nearby Ford Street. However, the plan raises concerns for parents who feel it?s dangerous for their kids to play in the street. "The street is a very dangerous place, number one. The kids have different health issues and this is a busy traffic area,? said one PAL parent, Shenia Rudolph. PAL Executive Director says they plan to barricade the street, and keep it clean and carefully supervised. Parents insist PAL?s plan is poor and they hope to find an alternative. Although parents admit PAL is the only affordable day camp in the area to send their kids, they hope affordability won?t sacrifice safety.
