Police: 1 dead, 4 wounded in New Rochelle shooting; victim believed to be from Brooklyn

The first shooting took place at about midnight where shots rang out at a gathering on Horton Avenue and Brook Street, where five men were shot. A 29-year-old man, believed to be a Brooklyn resident, was shot in the neck and did not survive his injuries.

A man believed to be from Brooklyn was killed and four others were wounded in a shooting in New Rochelle overnight, police say. Another shooting took place an hour later but left no victims.  
The first shooting took place at about midnight where shots rang out at a gathering on Horton Avenue and Brook Street, where five men were shot. A 29-year-old man, believed to be a Brooklyn resident, was shot in the neck and did not survive his injuries.
Another man who was shot in his back was rushed to a nearby hospital for surgery. His condition was not immediately released. According to hospital personnel, the other three victims were not seriously injured.
About an hour later, police say more shots were fired on Main Street into the windows of an apartment complex. There were no injuries reported and it was not clear if the two shootings were related.
The incidents come on the heels of another shooting that took place on Union Avenue on Friday night, where shots were fired at a moving pickup truck.
Officials are currently investigating both shootings and have not identified any suspects. Authorities are asking that anyone with information call the New Rochelle Police Department.
