A 19-year-old Newburgh man was killed in a crash on the Palisades Interstate Parkway Tuesday, state police say.

It happened near Exit 16 in Stony Point around 9:45 a.m.

Police say Christopher Rivera was traveling southbound when he exited the road, went into the center median and struck a tree.

An investigation determined it was raining and the road was wet when the crash occurred.

Officials say Rivera was extricated from the vehicle and taken Good Samaritan Hospital, where he died.

Anyone with information is New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Haverstraw at 845-344-5300.
