A man was taken back into custody Wednesday night after a brief escape, police say.
Police tell News 12 that a 19-year-old federal prisoner was being transported to another detention facility when he jumped out of the vehicle he was being taken in.
They say he got out near 170 26th St. in Greenwood Heights around 5:30 p.m.
The escape led to aviation units and more police officers to search for him as he fled with no shoes on and front handcuffs.
Police say they were able to locate him after a couple of hours.
