Police are investigating after a tragic discovery in Queens.

Officials say a passer-by found a newborn baby boy in a pile of garbage at the Dutch Kills Park in the Astoria section of Queens Saturday.

The baby was in cardiac arrest.

He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner is working to determine his cause of death.

Police say they are searching for his parents.
