Police: Bath Beach fire that left 2 dead possibly suspicious

Two firefighters also suffered minor injuries during the fire at the four-story building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.

Police and the FDNY are now taking a closer look at a fire that broke out in Bath Beach on Sunday evening leaving two people dead.

According to the NYPD, two unconscious and unresponsive men were found and pronounced dead at the scene of the fire at 159 Bay 29 St. between Bath and Benson avenues on Sunday just after 6:45 p.m.

Sources say that the incident appears to be suspicious. They say one of the victims had a puncture wound and that the other had head trauma. At this time, neither victim has been identified.

Two firefighters also suffered minor injuries during the fire at the four-story building. The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.

The medical examiner will work to determine the cause of death for the two dead men found at the scene.
