A Brooklyn man is facing vehicular manslaughter charges in a crash on Highway 31 in Hopewell Township that killed two people.
Police say Brooklyn resident Kongmi Khu, 32, was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee southbound when he tried to pass two vehicles in a no-passing zone. They say it was during this attempt that Khu struck a Nissan Maxima traveling north.
Police say that a 13-year-old boy sitting in the front seat of the Jeep was severely injured and later died at the hospital. The driver of the Nissan was also killed. Two women in the backseat of the Jeep were also injured and were listed in serious, but stable condition.
Khu was treated for minor injuries and is now in custody facing two counts of vehicular manslaughter and other charges.
