One man is dead and another is in custody after a high-speed dirt bike chase with police on Randall Avenue yesterday.
Police say the chase started when officers approached 26-year-old Adalberto Gonzalez for operating a dirt bike without a license plate or helmet. Gonzalez took off on one bike and then jumped on the back of another dirt bike driven by another man, according to police.
An officer struck the back of the bike, throwing both men off the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at Lincoln Hospital.
Gonzalez is facing charges including reckless endangerment and resisting arrest.
