Police Commissioner Bill Bratton visited Washington, D.C. Thursday in an effort to press Congress to approve an extension of the Zadroga Act.
The act would provide medical care for 9/11 first responders. 
Sen. Chuck Schumer says the votes are there to approve the measure, but says legislative leaders continue to stall it.
Congress is expected to vote on a comprehensive spending bill that will include the Zadroga Act next week.
