A man is dead and two teenage girls are recovering in the hospital after a shooting at a Bedford-Stuyvesant party.
Police say multiple shots were fired shortly after midnight on Quincy Street, just as a college graduation party was winding down.
Investigators say a man was shot in the torso and later pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital. He has been identified as 21-year-old Cornell Clarke, of East New York.
Clarke's family says he was not the intended target of the shooting, and that his friend was instead. Police have yet to determine a motive behind the shooting.
The two surviving victims, 17- and 19-year-old females, are in stable condition at Kings County Hospital, according to authorities.
Police say no arrests have been made at this time and that they are continuing their investigation.
Neighbors say police had stopped by the party earlier in the evening prior to the shooting to check in on the crowd of about a hundred people.
