Police officers are getting to know people in some of their communities.
A meet-and-greet was held Thursday at the East 177th Street subway station in Parkchester.
Cops handed out fliers and safety pamphlets to help bridge the gap that may exist between residents and law enforcement. They also participated in fun activities while urging everyone to remain vigilant in their neighborhoods.
Police are encouraging people to ask questions so they can become familiar with the officers in their transit system.
