Human remains were found Friday near the Hutchinson River Parkway, police say.

Construction workers found a human skull in the woods near Exit 3 of the parkway.

Authorities say the remains were extremely decomposed and it's unclear if there was a full body. 

The Medical Examiner’s office and police are investigating how the person died and how long their remains have been there.
