Authorities have released the identities of a man and woman found dead in what police sources believe was a double suicide in Sheepshead Bay.
EMS was called to 3030 Emmons Ave. at around 12:45 p.m. Monday for a wellness check. That's when authorities say they found 43-year-old Michael Huhem, who lived in the home, and 44-year-old Kimberly Owens, from Texas.
According to investigators, the highly toxic chemical cyanide was discovered near the bodies, which forced the apartment building to be temporarily evacuated as a precaution.
Nine responding officers were exposed to the cyanide, but none of them have displayed any adverse reactions.
The medical examiner will now determine the exact cause of death.
