Police say a male in his 30s was pulled from the water at Newton Creek in Greenpoint.

They say they got a 911 call for a body in the water just before 12:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon near North Henry Street and Kingsland Avenue.

Police say when they arrived, they found a man appearing to be in his 30s, unconscious and unresponsive and pulled him from the water of Newton Creek, where he was pronounced dead on the scene by EMS.

News 12 has previously reported about a few people who have been found dead in or near the creek. The most recent incident was in July when police say a man’s body was found on a boat docked on the creek.

Police say the medical examiner is working to determine an official cause of death.
