Police: Man charged with DUI after woman was trapped under SUV in Williamsburg crash

A witness tells News 12 the incident could’ve been avoided. She says the driver tried to cut someone off, then wound up hitting and dragging the woman.

A 32-year-old Brooklyn woman who was rescued after being trapped under an SUV in Williamsburg Friday was hospitalized in critical condition, according to police. 
Police say the incident happened just before 1 p.m. on Graham Avenue and Broadway.
Police say a 47-year-old man was driving westbound on Broadway as the woman was crossing east on Graham Avenue. 
The man struck the woman and dragged her 15 feet, according to police. 
Police say the man failed his sobriety test and was arrested. He is charged with DUI.
