Police: Man fatally shot on busy Brownsville street

Law enforcement officials say that officers arrived and found a 36-year-old man who was shot in his abdomen.

A man is dead after shots were fired on Monday morning in Brownsville on a busy street full of businesses.  

Police say the shooting took place just before 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Ralph and Sutter Avenues. Witnesses tell News 12 that they heard multiple gunshots and that NYPD officers had flooded the street in minutes.  

Law enforcement officials say that officers arrived and found a 36-year-old man who was shot in his abdomen. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he died.  

Employees from nearby Princess Nails say they plan on closing early Monday night because they don't feel safe. 

No arrests have been made.
