Police say they have arrested the man who attacked two kids as they were waiting for a bus early Tuesday morning.
A 16-year-old girl and her 9-year-old little brother were inside the lobby of the Bushwick Houses, looking out the window for their bus when a man walked into the lobby. Police released video of the man, showing him pacing in the lobby and speaking as the kids were huddled in the corner. Suddenly, police say the suspect turned around and punched both of them before running away.
Hours later, police arrested Charles Matthews, 26, a homeless man. He is facing charges including assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Both kids were taken to a hospital for an evaluation. The kids say they have experienced headaches, and the boy has a bruise on his forehead.
