Police are searching for an armed robber in Coney Island.

Officials say the suspect was apparently looking for marijuana initially, but when that didn’t pan out he went for cash.

The incident happened around 7:40 a.m. last Friday as the 32-year-old victim was walking along Neptune Avenue. According to police, the suspect went up to the victim and asked where he could buy marijuana. Police say the victim told the suspect he couldn’t offer any assistance and walked into 3395 Neptune Ave. Officials say that’s when the suspect pulled out a gun and demanded money. He got away with about $250.

The victim was not hurt, but police are still searching for the suspect.
