A man was badly burned after he was lit on fire.

In surveillance video, viewers can hear part of an altercation between two men.

Police say there was some sort of argument before a man was lit on fire.

Video shows the man running across the street after being set on fire. Neighbors say he started taking off his clothes as he was running.

Around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers found a 46-year-old man completely engulfed in flames.

It happened near the corner of Rutland Road and Schenectady Avenue.

The officers were able to get a fire extinguisher and douse the flames..

EMS workers took the man to Weill Cornell Medicine Burn Center Hospital where he was in critical condition.

Neighbors say there are several halfway houses and homeless shelters that contribute to violence in the community.

Police are searching for the suspect.
