Police say a man was shot in front of a Bed-Stuy church Friday night.
They say when officers arrived at the scene, they found a 59-year-old man shot in the shoulder.
The victim was taken to Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Officials say he is expected to recover.
The shooting happened across from the Louis Armstrong NYCHA complex and three blocks from the 79 Precinct.
Neighbors in the area say they heard at least four gunshots Friday night.
It is unclear if the victim knows the shooter or what led to the shooting.
According to officials, the shooter ran away after the attack.
Investigators say they will speak to the victim once he comes out of surgery.
