Shots broke out outside a Bushwick elementary school Wednesday just two hours before the start of school.
Police say a 24-year-old was shot in the leg on Eldert Street between Central and Evergreen avenues.
The shooting was nearby First Bushwick Elementary Charter School.
Police say the victim walked in to Wyckoff Heights Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the knee just before 6 a.m. However, investigators believe he was shot in front of 155 Eldert St., one of the school's entrances.
Parents were told to use a different entrance to the building while police set up the crime scene investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
