A knife-wielding suspect slashed a woman on a train in East New York during Monday's evening rush, police say.
The 29-year-old victim was slashed in the neck at the Euclid Avenue station at around 6:15 p.m., police say. She was taken to Jamaica Hospital and treated for the laceration.
Police say the victim did not know the suspect, 32-year-old Don Carter, who was arrested Tuesday evening. Carter faces several charges, including possession of a weapon and assault.
Neighbors say the idea of a random slashing is a scary reminder of why commuters should constantly remain mindful of their surroundings.
