An attempted robbery turned into an attack on the 6 train at the Pelham Bay park station, police say.

According to the NYPD, a man was sleeping on the 6 train heading north when another man tried to cut open his pants pocket and steal what he had.

The victim woke up and the two started arguing on the train. The suspect then sprayed the victim in the face with some kind of substance.

The victim was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
