The NYPD is asking for the public's help in identifying a man linked to a violent rape in Brooklyn over the weekend.
Police say a 49-year-old woman was walking in the 27th Street and 5th Avenue area at around 3 a.m. Saturday when she was approached by the suspect. The man engaged in a conversation with the woman then pushed her to the ground, threatened her, and pulled her into a nearby driveway where he forcibly raped the victim, according to police.
Investigators say the man demanded she perform further sexual acts on him and punched her in the head when she refused.
He fled on foot eastbound on 27th Street and then northbound on 5th Avenue.
The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for her injuries.
