An off-duty NYPD officer who works in The Bronx was stabbed today in a possible home invasion. Authorities say Rishi Gobin, who has worked in the 42nd Precinct for the past four years, was stabbed after two men forced their way into the officer's Jamaica, Queens home.
NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, who visited Gobin in the hospital, said the officer had one stab wound to his right side. The wound did not penetrate any vital organs.
Gobin is in stable condition at Jamaica Hospital.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
