A dog was fatally shot after attacking four people, including a police officer, in Setauket early Wednesday, police say.

Police say an English bulldog attacked three people at a home on Saint George Glen Drive shortly after midnight.

The dog also attacked a responding police officer, who shot and killed it.

Two women, a man and the officer were treated at a hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening
