Police: Pedestrian fatally struck by LIRR train in Southampton

Police say 57-year-old Rodney Brumsey was crossing the train tracks near North Bishop and Moses lanes Wednesday afternoon around 3:40 p.m.

Police say a Southampton man was struck and killed by a LIRR train.
Police say 57-year-old Rodney Brumsey was crossing the train tracks near North Bishop and Moses lanes Wednesday afternoon around 3:40 p.m.
According to police, the train was traveling eastbound when the engineer noticed the man crossing -- immediately signaling a warning horn.
Officials say the train was unable to stop in time, fatally striking him.
MTA police say they are now conducting the investigation.
