Police have released the name and photo of one of the suspects they say was involved in the shooting of an off-duty NYPD officer.
Police say Jason Leiva, 20, is one of the suspects who shot and wounded officer Ivan Marcano last night. Police say Marcano was shot as he tried to stop the men from robbing a 65-year-old man on Harrison Avenue.
Authorities say Marcano shot and killed one of the suspects, but the other two escaped. Marcano was taken to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition.
Leiva is described as a Hispanic male who stands at 5'8" and weighs 148 pounds. A $22,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to his or the other suspect's arrest.
