Police say they are searching for suspects in the stabbing of a Cypress Hills bodega owner.
Police say they have been combing the store, searching for any kind of evidence.
Investigators tell News 12 two suspects came into Friendly Deli, went behind the counter to attack the owner, then emptied the cash register and took off with cash.
Officers arrived and found the 44-year-old store owner with multiple stab wounds in the neck, according to a relative.
The victim was taken to Brookdale Hospital and is in stable condition.
After the attack, the victim’s brother-in-law says they heard the victim calling out for his sister and ran to help.
They tell News 12 they believe violence has become a trend here, which makes them uneasy.
“The crime in this neighborhood is like skyrocketing, it’s like skyrocketing. Every day something happened and like this neighborhood is not safe for anybody,” said Anwar Hossain, brother-in-law of the victim.
