Police are investigating an attempted rape pattern in Park Slope and need help identifying the man involved.
Two separate cases of attempted rape have been reported this month. One of the cases happened on Eighth Avenue and Carrol Street, and the other happened near Garfield Place and Prospect Park West.
Police say while they believe the suspect in both incidents are the same person, there is a possibility that the suspect could be different.
The first incident happened in the early hours of Sept. 8 when a 26-year-old woman was entering her apartment building and a man followed her through an open door.
Police say he then exposed himself, grabbed the woman and tried to prevent her from entering the building. The man then ran toward Prospect Park West.
Police say the woman didn't suffer any injuries.
The second incident happened just last Monday. Police say a 17-year-old girl was walking near Carrol Street and Eighth Avenue when a man approached her from behind, groped her and threatened to sexually assault her.
Police say a witness tried to apprehend the man, but he ran away.
Police are offering a reward for anyone with any information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
