Police searching for man in connection to attempted kidnapping in the Bronx

Police are searching for a man they say attempted to kidnap a young boy in the Bronx last week.
Police say it happened shortly after 9 p.m. on Tuesday when an 8-year-old boy and his mother were walking down the stairs to the southbound D line platform at the Fordham Road Station.
That’s when the man grabbed the young boy from his mother’s hand, according to police. They say the young boy’s mother started screaming for help and immediately pulled her son away from the man, who they say kept staring at them after the incident.
A crowd began to form, and the man left the station, according to police.
Police describe the man to be about 5 feet, 11 inches tall. They say he was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket, gray hooded sweatshirt, and a black Yankees baseball hat.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the authorities.
