A 30-year-old man is fighting for his life in the hospital after police say he was shot in the head in Kingsbridge.

The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. on West 231st Street.

Officers found a 30-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken by private means to New York Presbyterian-Allen Hospital in critical condition.

Police sources tell News 12 the shooter may be an off-duty officer.

Surveillance video shows the moment a shot was fired, sending a bullet across the street and into a nearby bar.

Inside the bar, the bullet shattered glass and nearly missed people working and drinking.

“Terrible. Because, you know, the same way that that person can get hurt. Anybody in here can get hurt,” said bar manager Ada.

Crime scene units were on the block Thursday gathering evidence.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
