Police: Suspect wanted for punching woman in the face, making anti-Muslim comments in Brooklyn

The victim has since recovered, but police are hoping to identify the suspect.

A man is wanted in connection to assaulting a woman and making anti-Muslim comments in Brooklyn, authorities say.

According to the NYPD, the suspect approached a 34-year-old woman inside a building at 149 Flatbush Ave. at around 9 p.m. on Aug. 21. Police say he punched her multiple times in the face as he made anti-Muslim comments. He then took off.

The victim has since recovered, but police are hoping to identify the suspect.

Police say the suspect is between the ages of 16 and 20, and was wearing a ski mask and carrying a backpack at the time of the assault.
