Police are investigating a carjacking with a young child still in the car in Kingsbridge Heights early this afternoon.
Officials say a 45-year-old mother parked her green Honda Odyssey outside a flower shop on Jerome Avenue. While the woman was going around to take her 3-year-old son out of the car, the vehicle was stolen with the child still inside.
According to police, the child was found unharmed a few blocks away, but his mother suffered a broken leg and was transported to Saint Barnabas Hospital for treatment.
