A woman was fatally stabbed on the Sutter Avenue 3 train subway platform, according to police.
Police say Mia Simmons, 20, was arrested Tuesday on manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon charges.
Police say they were able to track the suspect down by following a trail of blood left at the scene.
The victim, Latanya Watson, allegedly sprayed pepper spray in the face of the suspect, who in turn pulled out a knife and stabbed her repeatedly.
Police say when they got there they found 30-year-old Watson with multiple stab wounds to her face, neck and arms, laying in the mezzanine area.
She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Jerelle Martin, the victim's fiance, tells News 12 he is devastated.
"Her bonnet is laying in a pool of blood, her bonnet, what she wears every day to work," says Martin.
He says she was on her way home from the fairway in Red Hook where she worked and had texted him last night
"She texted me on her way home, she said 'I love you. I'm on my way home.' It was the last text I got last night," says Martin.
