Police are conducting a homicide investigation in Prospect Lefferts-Gardens after a woman was found dead and a 58-year-old was hospitalized with cuts to his wrists.

Police responded to the couple’s apartment at 25 Lefferts Ave. just after 5 a.m. for a report of an assault.

They found the 47-year-old woman dead on the scene with cuts to her neck. Her 58-year-old boyfriend was taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

A neighbor told News 12 that the couple was from Trinidad and had a history of arguments. The neighbor said that the woman worked in a nightclub and the man, known as Romy, works in construction.

Police told News 12 that they found a knife inside the apartment, but would not go into detail as to the nature of what they are calling a “domestic incident.”
