The City Council released its budget response that would reverse controversial cuts proposed by Mayor Eric Adams. Council leadership says they found more than $6 billion the mayor's plan didn't account for. They want to dedicate $1.63 billion to restore funding to schools, parks, cultural institutions and Sunday library service.
The Council also wants to invest $1.32 billion into more affordable housing and prioritizing repairs in public housing.
Discussing all this and more with Amanda Bossard is Council Member Justin Brannan.
